Mary Ellen Pfundstein, age 74, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was born October 30, 1938 in Cleveland to the late Francis and Eileen (Castetter) Toomey. Mary formerly worked at the Plain Dealer for 17 years, where she was a secretary for the editorial writers. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Beloved wife of Roy Pfundstein; loving mother of Therese Hanshaw, Suzanne Connely (Shawn), Kathyrn Beck (Jim), James Farley (Melissa) and Michael Farley (Kelly); loving grandmother of 11; dear sister of Suzanne Spinks, Eileen Balaf, Kathleen Gruden, Maureen Ferguson and Patrick Toomey.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Margaret Toomey and William Toomey. Family will receive friends Friday from 11-1:00 p.m. at the Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, OH 44256.
