With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Alan Lynn Prosak, age 72, on September 8, 2024, while surrounded by the love of his family. Alan was born on July 9, 1952, in Lorain, OH to the late Edward and Angeline (nee Braleski) Prosak.

Alan found fulfillment in his career as Controller for Discount Drug Mart for over 30 years. What brought him the most joy was spending time with his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren. His strong faith and perseverance brought hope and inspiration to others also battling kidney disease. The family is deeply grateful for the additional 20 years they were blessed to have Alan, thanks to the generous gift of life from his organ donor family.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Donalynn Prosak (nee Jamison); his children Krista Holmgren, Lori (Steve) Jennings, Bradley (Liz Bahl Prosak) Prosak, and Robert Prosak; his eight precious grandchildren, Brandon, Maely, Ethan, Emilyn, Simon, Oscar "Ozzie", Irena, and Halina; his siblings, Nancy (Jim) Coller, Noreen Paffumi, Jim (Cheryl) Prosak, and his sister-in-law Kim Prosak.

He was proceeded to Heaven by his parents, Edward and Angeline Prosak; his brother, John Prosak; and his son-in-law, J.J. Holmgren.

The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Ohio 44256 . A service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11am. on Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor his memory may make a memorial donation in Alan's name to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio , 2831 Prospect Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115.
