Althea "Jean" Lloyd, age 98, of Medina, Ohio, passed away surrounded by her family on December 13, 2024, just 2 days shy of her 99th birthday. She was born to Harrison and Florence (Ashdown) Plants on December 15, 1925, in Medina, Ohio. Jean was a lifelong resident of Medina and graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1943. Jean retired after serving in the division of direct deposits for Old Phoenix National Bank. She was a member of the Medina County Union of the International Order of King's Daughters and Sons, the Medina Historical Society, Friends of the Cemetery at Spring Grove Cemetery as well as volunteering at Medina Hospital for many years. She loved family vacations and reunions each year. Jean enjoyed being outdoors and walking in Medina Parks and gardening. She also enjoyed reading, golfing, boating, and traveling to Marine Corps events with her husband, as well as cooking and baking for family. She will be dearly missed in the community.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Julie Duncan (Jerry); her sister-in-law, Viviane Avant (J.W.) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband of 60 years in 2007, Harry George Lloyd; and her son, Jon A. Lloyd in 2010.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256. Jean's Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, Ohio.
