Andrew William
Platt
September 30, 1957 – February 10, 2026
Andrew William Platt, age 68, passed away on February 10, 2026, following a lengthy illness. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Brittany Platt, and her mother, Jodi Bauer, his former spouse. Andrew was also a loving stepfather to Amanda (Alex) Negron, Olivia Shea-Abboud, Justin (Cindy) Pugh, and Brandon Pugh. He was a cherished step-grandfather to Matthew, Aurora, Logan, Ava, Sage, Reid, Lucas, and Alexander. In addition to his family, Andrew is fondly remembered by his dear friend, Deborah Wellman, whose unwavering companionship was deeply meaningful to him and brought him much happiness for so many years.
Andrew is survived by his brother, Richard (Patricia) Roberts, and his sister, Lorrie Platt, along with nephews James Platt Jr, Joseph (Platt) Ball, Aaron Roberts, Brian Roberts, and Carl Ward.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Leora Platt (nee Dodson), his father, Richard Platt, his brothers, James Roberts, and Robert Platt.
Andrew had a lifelong love of baseball and golf, two passions that brought him immense joy throughout his life. Whether he was cheering from the stands, coaching from the sidelines, or stepping up to the plate himself, baseball was an integral part of his life. He also enjoyed his time on the golf course, where he found peace, camaraderie, and the simple pleasure of a well-struck ball. These sports were more than hobbies—they were reflections of his spirit, his competitiveness, his humor, and his love of spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Andrew was a dog lover who shared his home with several dogs over the years. Caring for them was a part of his daily life, and he took pride in the bond he formed with each one. His dog, Charlotte, was a familiar presence by his side and a source of simple joy and routine that he treasured.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Andrew served his country with dedication and honor. He will be laid to rest in a military service on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10:15 am at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
In honor of his service family requests donations to be made to the local office of the Department of Veteran Affairs.
