Arthur G. Mayer, Jr., 68, passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 16, 2026. Born on October 3, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio, Art was the son of Arthur G. and Rita Ann (Roth) Mayer, Sr.

Art was self-employed in landscape design, a profession that reflected his deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman who found peace and joy in nature, and he took great pride in his work and his yard.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Cherice (Jindra) Mayer; his children, Andrew, Maes (Athena), Nicholas, and Mackenzie; his mother, Rita Ann Mayer; and his siblings, Edie (Mike) Coman, Ben (Joanne) Mayer, Beth (Mike) Marsh, and Jennifer (Greg) Nold. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur G. Mayer Sr., and his brother, William.

Art will be remembered as a good man—ornery and stubborn at times—but someone who always put others first. Above all, he loved his wife and children deeply and cherished his family.
