Ross
October 16, 1935 – May 11, 2025
Barbara A. Ross, aged 89, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025. Born on October 16, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Erdeyi) O'Grady. Her life was marked by devotion to family, faith, and community, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. Barbara was a cherished sister, aunt, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched countless lives. After graduating from Rhodes High School, she continued her education at Kent State University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cleveland State University. Her professional career was distinguished by her roles as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Eaton Corporation in Cleveland and later, at AT&T in Brecksville. Barbara's dedication to excellence in her work inspired those around her and reflected her tireless spirit. In her free time, Barbara was deeply involved in her community and church. Her active participation in the American Association of University Women exemplified her commitment to education and empowerment for women. She taught Sunday School classes and engaged in numerous Bible study groups over the years, offering guidance and sharing her love of God and her faith with others. Barbara enjoyed traveling and visited many places in Ohio including State Parks and Amish towns, where she observed the scenery and culture of her home state. She loved the time she spent on her houseboat anchored on Lake Erie in the early years. Barbara traveled internationally, visiting Jerusalem and the Holy Lands, viewing the Pyramids of Egypt, and climbing the Eiffel Tower in Paris while exploring museums and experiencing French cuisine. These trips provided her with many experiences and memories. Later in life, Barbara found contentment at The Avenue of Medina, where she embraced the community atmosphere with enthusiasm. She cherished the camaraderie of her fellow residents during meals and daily activities. She particularly enjoyed pampering moments while getting her nails done and visiting the salon for her hair styling, always finding joy in life's simple pleasures. Barbara's legacy is carried on by her loving sister Liz, her devoted nieces, nephews, and their families, her cousins, and the friends she made at The Avenue. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Elizabeth O'Grady, her sister Sharon Kole, and her brother Mike (Owen) O'Grady. Barbara's life was a tapestry of love, service, and exploration, inspiring all who had the honor of knowing her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
