Bernard Dick, age 89, passed away on January 29, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1935, to the late Augustine and Mary Leona (nee Oriens). Bernard is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Lois; treasured children Gregory, Patrick (Jennifer), Marianne Lewis (Michael), Elizabeth Dooley (Timothy), Pamela Dodge (Jeffrey), and Daniel (Nila)and honorary daughter-in-law Laurie; 20 cherished grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way; dear siblings Thomas (Leanne), James (Judith), and Rosemary Osheim (David, deceased), Theresa Fisher, and Andrew (Mary).
Bernard is preceded in death by his sister JoAnne Marie Savage.
Bernie graduated from St. Charles High school, and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Xavier University and attended Northern Ohio Law School. He married the love of his life, Lois, on April 19, 1958, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kenton, Ohio. Bernie was a member of the Medina Chorus for several years. He was also the choir director for St. Francis and Holy Martyrs Catholic Church. As the kids were growing up, Bernie coached baseball for his sons. Bernie was a former member of the Ohio Bar Association and proudly served as a past Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus. Bernie greatly enjoyed fishing, gardening, and golfing in his free time. He even golfed 2 holes in one! Bernie will be dearly missed by all.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 4-6 pm, at Waite Funeral Home in Medina. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 10am at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church. A visitation will be held at 9am at the church prior to mass. Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.waitefuneralhome.com.
Thanks to Serenity Hospice, Medina Hospital and The Avenues for the care they provided for Bernie.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in honor of Bernie to Holy Martyrs Catholic Church.
