Betty Lou Arthur

Betty Lou Arthur of Medina passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born May 21,1935 in Berryburg, WV and was raised on Point Mountain later becoming a Medina County resident.

Betty worked at Latex Industries of Chippewa Lake and later became a caregiver for many special needs clients at Intervention for Peace. She was a tomboy at heart with her love of denim and fast cars. That’s how she met her husband of 54 years, Edward A. Arthur.

She is survived by her brother Roy “Butch” (Nancy) Zirkle, sister Donna (Billy) Nottingham and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Arthur, who passed April 20, 2015, her parents Dexter Sr. and Grace (nee Mace) Zirkle; brothers Robert Zirkle, Thomas Zirkle, Harold Zirkle, and Dexter Zirkle, Jr., Johnie Dale Zirkle; sisters Joann Carpenter, Marlene Arthur, and Karen Carpenter.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Medina Pointe Senior Living and Remembrance Hospice for caring for Betty in her time of need.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 North Court Street, Medina, Ohio with a service to follow at 12:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
