Beverly Ann
"Bobbie" Lakatosh
September 6, 1942 – June 15, 2025
Beverly Ann "Bobbie" Lakatosh, 82, of Valley City, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones, on June 15, 2025. Born September 6, 1942, in Cleveland, Ohio, Bobbie was the daughter of the late Douglas and Isabelle (Cooper) McKay. She married Joseph James Lakatosh III in 1961, and they shared 64 wonderful years together.
Bobbie and Joe made their home in Valley City, Ohio, for 55 years. In addition to being a nurse and a paramedic, she was Medina County's first female firefighter. A woman of strong faith, she was a devout member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. She was always praying and fighting for the underdog. One of her favorite sayings was, "Just because someone is different doesn't mean they are 'less' – it just means they are different." She loved unconditionally, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Bobbie's memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Joe; children, Deborah (Ron) Bengough and Joe (Val, deceased) Lakatosh; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Doug (Donna) McKay and Izzy (Carl) Bratcher; sister-in-law, Gayle (CD, deceased) Short; best friend, Bev Bistacky; and numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Fred.
The family will welcome guests from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 1800 Station Road, Valley City. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery.
