Bobby J. Askew, Sr., 89, of Valley City, passed away July 8, 2025.

He was born in Cherokee, AL on April 24, 1936 to Thomas and Lucy (Ogletree) Askew.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia (Wohlfiel); children, Cindy, Joyce, Bobby and Kevin; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Bobby's extensive volunteer work for the cause of wildlife in the State of Ohio included service as volunteer president and founder of Turn In A Poacher (T.I.P.), an organization to stop poaching, a volunteer in the effort to ban gill nets within the state, and he also served on Governor Celeste's committee of volunteers. He also served as past president of the South Cuyahoga Sportsman Association and the League of Ohio Sportsman. He was a member of Medina Presbyterian Church and volunteered his time to assist with the church BBQ.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m., Friday, July 18, 2025, followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., at Medina Presbyterian Church, 5020 Burgundy Bay Blvd., Medina.
