It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bruce A. Broa, age 85 of Hinckley, Ohio and more recently Kissimmee, Florida. Bruce passed away peacefully in the presence of his family early in the morning on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Bruce was born August 14, 1941 to Rhea (nee Walker) Broa in Lakewood, Ohio. As a teen, Bruce showed tenacity as a hard worker, helping to provide for his family as an auto mechanic in the family owned business.
In 1963, Bruce joined the United States Army. Most of his service was spent stationed in Germany working as a heavy machine operator. In 1966 he was honorably discharged. That same year shortly after arriving home, his cousin introduced him to her neighbor, Bobbie, who would turn out to be the love of his life, his soulmate and constant companion through all years to come.
Bruce and Bobbie were married October 4, 1969. They settled in Hinckley, Ohio, where they built their life together and raised their daughter, Belinda.
Bruce worked as a maintenance manager of NEO Regional Sewer District until he retired. He was a longtime member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Bruce’s life was marked by service to his family, his church and all those around him who had the privilege of calling him friend. In this way, he never truly retired in that he was always giving his time and skills to anyone who needed help.
Bruce traveled extensively in his RV visiting 48 states with his family. He spent his free time camping, playing golf and watching Cleveland Indians baseball. Above all, Bruce loved spending time with his daughter and grandsons. He was their biggest cheerleader, attending all their sporting events and taking a keen interest in all that they pursued. He greatly valued time spent with family and friends.
After retiring and relocating to Kissimmee, Florida, Bruce enjoyed working at Walt Disney World. Bruce will be missed by all who knew him. To know Bruce was to love him.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Roberta “Bobbie” (nee Brown), his loving daughter, Belinda Broa, his cherished grandsons, Brandon Broa (Callie Jay) and Jeremiah Joreski. He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Dawn, his mother, Rhea, and his sister, Karen “Sis”.
