Bruce C
Fisher
August 13, 1950 – February 27, 2020
Bruce Charles Fisher was born on August 13, 1950, beloved son of the late Arthur Chalmers Fisher and Janet Curtis Fisher. He grew up and lived most of his life in Wadsworth, Ohio. From a very early age, Bruce showed a curiosity and aptitude for all things electrical and mechanical. He channeled this passion into pursuing an education at a technical institute, eventually opening his own repair business.
He loved to be under the hood of a car or figure out the intricacies of any machine, TV, or computer. Bruce enjoyed operating the sound system for the Medina County Fair and at car shows for many years. He brought a spirit of inquiry and zeal to everything he did. He loved to travel with his family to Myrtle Beach and the mountains of North Carolina. He was always up for a road trip, however long, and later in life turned this love into driving for FedEx.
Bruce was loved and adored by all who met and knew him: his family, his clients and customers, his dear car show friends, his work colleagues, his pets, complete strangers. Bruce always had a ready smile and a joke to tell. He would help anyone who needed a hand. Even in his long, valiant struggle with illness, he remained positive and hopeful, sharing a joke with his nurses and doctors and inspiring everyone who knew him. He lived his life with a pure delight in a shared laugh, a thrill from figuring out a mechanical problem, love for his family, friends, and animals, and a reverence for nature.
Bruce leaves his devoted wife Barbara, children Melissa Johnson and Garnetta Johnson; grandchildren Xabiere Johnson, Adrianna Pressley, Dierre Johnson, Cheyenne Johnson; great grandchildren Kai Smith and Desmond Lewis, his "Sis" Sara Ann of Boston, former wife and friend Elaine Dietz, and many longtime friends. We will miss his upbeat spirit and the joy he felt for each new day.
He is lovingly welcomed into heaven by his parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles. Bruce's family is very grateful to his excellent providers and nurses at Medina Hospital, The Cleveland Clinic, his infusion team, and staff of Hospice of Western Reserve, Medina.
