Candy Sue Schwandt, age 66, passed away on August 11, 2024, in Medina, Ohio surrounded by her beloved family. She was born on July 28, 1958, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank and Gladys (Muncy) Justice. Candy was a sweet and strong person who had a big heart and was made happy by the simplest things. It was her natural inclination to help others, and she never met a stranger. Candy loved to cook. (Food was love.)  In her home, no one ever left hungry. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved family camping, attending music concerts, and generally for any birthday, holiday, or activity.   Her favorite pass times were anything involving her granddaughters. (She also never missed a chance to go dance dress shopping.)  Her heart exploded with love & pride for her girls, and she was front and center in all of their lives at every opportunity. Candy was gifted with a generous sense of humor, everyone knew she loved to sing and cut up, and she did so even in her final unconscious moments. Her gifts to us will live on by the example she set for all of us every day and though we hold her dear in our hearts she will be greatly missed.

Candy is survived by her husband of 23 years, Alan L. Schwandt; her daughter, Rhonda (Tom) Sayre; beloved grandchildren, Autumn Sayre (Dominic Hamilton) Emily Sayre and Kayla Sayre; her siblings, Freddie (Linda dec) Justice, Dannie Justice, Doug Justice, and Theresa (George) Germack; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces who all brought her so much joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronnie Justice, and grandson, River.

The family wishes to send a special Thank you to the amazing staff at Hospice of the Western Reserve, Medina Inpatient Unit. They are all the sweetest caregivers who do an unimaginable job so beautifully.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. However, funeral services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Candy's memory be made to: Hospice of Medina County, 5075 Windfall Road, Medina, OH 44256.
