Carol Ann
Gala
July 23, 1944 – November 22, 2024
Carol Ann Gala, 80, was called home to rest peacefully with the angels on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was born on July 23, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Henry and Helen (Wasik) Zdrojewski.
Carol was a woman of great faith who fiercely loved her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she fought hard to make as many memories as possible with them. Her care and compassion for others extended beyond her career as a nurse. She was welcoming to everyone she met. Carol loved a good pastry and a trip to the casino. She found peace when she was near the water.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Lou Gala. Her memory will be cherished by her children, John (the late Diane) Stawicki, Anita (Phil) Gerenday, Robert (Gwen) Stawicki, Paul Stawicki, Kathy (Dave) Pachuta, Wayne (Candace) Gala and Renee Gala. She was a proud grandmother to Erin (Jeremy) Throener, Marc Carr, Brittany (Micah) Stawicki, Ashley (Tyler) O'Connell, Dan (Halee) Gerenday, Emilea (Tyler) Vernon, John Stawicki, Robert Stawicki, Amanda Stawicki, Paul Stawicki, Eric Stawicki, and Brad Stawicki. She was the loving Bobcia of Mikaela and Kaedence Throener, Warren and Ledger O'Connell, DJ and Henry Gerenday, Brayden Carr and Truett Vernon.
Carol is now reunited with her late husband, John Stawicki, to whom she was married from 1964 until his passing in 1980. In addition to her husband and parents, she was welcomed into heaven by her son, Mark Stawicki, nephew, Alex Zdrojewski, sister, Donna Bowler, brother, Ron Zdrojewski, and daughter-in-law, Diane Stawicki.
All those who wish to celebrate Carol are asked to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin of Tours Church, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, Ohio, 44280, on Wednesday, December 4. The family will welcome friends at the church at 10 a.m. and mass will begin at 11 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at Amy's Arbors Event Center, 6780 Center Road, Valley City, Ohio, 44280 from 12:30 until 3:30 p.m.
