Obituary

Carol A. Hoover, 83, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026.

She was born in Cleveland on December 24, 1942, to Daniel and Ethel (Pekkola) Marold.

Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Daniel; her children, Jackie Stevens (Kurtis), Bob Kinstler (Jennifer), and Danielle Hoover; her grandchildren, Ashley Bennie (Scott), Michael Luciano (the late Simone), Taylor Kinstler, Courtney Hockensmith (Branden), and Autumn Carter; her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jordan, Everett, and Lakelyn; her siblings, Gale Lipinski (Frank) and Ken Marold (Pat); She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family was the most important part of Carol's life. She was a devoted grandmother who was always there for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She watched them, made sure they got to and from school each day, and made each of them their favorite breakfast and dinner. Taking care of the people she loved was simply part of who Carol was. She gave her time, her energy, and her love freely, and her family always knew they could count on her.

Carol loved gardening, especially growing flowers, and she had a special love for animals. She also loved to cook and was known throughout the family for her cheesecake, tomatoes and dumplings, homemade spaghetti and her thanksgiving stuffing. These special dishes became part of the family traditions and memories that will continue to be cherished.

One of Carol's favorite places was the beach. She often visited Virginia Beach and loved the Outer Banks. She didn't need anything elaborate, she simply enjoyed being at the beach, taking in the beauty of the ocean, listening to the waves, and enjoying the peacefulness of being there.

Carol was incredibly proud of her family and the life she built. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with the people she loved. She leaves behind countless memories of family meals, holidays, school days, gardens, beach trips, and all the everyday moments in which she made sure those around her were cared for and loved.

Carol will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her strength, independence, humor, and unconditional love for her family will remain in their hearts and in the many memories she leaves behind.

A Celebration of Life will be held in September. Details will be announced when arrangements are finalized.
