Carol Janet (Leib) Rounds

Born in Cleveland Ohio on September 16, 1934, passed peacefully on August 24, 2024.  Carol was a 1952 graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland, Ohio. Carol was a sports lover as a young girl and a proud member of the Starlighters, think movie Grease Pink Ladies, while in high school. Carol met Vernon Rounds at a New Year's Eve party in 1958 and they married 6 months later. Carol worked in the insurance industry as an office supervisor until the birth of her first child. She then became a stay-at-home mom who frequently served as a room mom and volunteered for many events and activities. Carol returned to the work force as the children grew, first working for RF Printing, then Pro Arts and finally as a supervisor in the literature department at Plasti-Kote/Valspar. Carol was very active in the Brunswick Reformed Church where she and her family have attended since 1962. She was a Bible Study leader, Sunday School teacher, youth group advisor, Renewal team member, Kid's Hope mentor, elder, and greater elder. She is also a past president of the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post 9520.

Carol is survived by her children, Tom (Tony Otto), Kathy, and Patricia Amato (Dino, deceased); and granddaughter, Ashley Amato. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in the Cleveland area, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, Kentucky and Arizona.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Laverne (Bahre) Leib; husband, Vernon; son-in-law, Dino Amato; sister, Laverne Greenwald; brother-in-law, Richard Greenwald; nephews, John Greenwald and David Rounds; nieces, Janet Greenwald and Karen Crowe; and dearest pet, Abby.

A Celebration of Carol's life will take place at 1:30 pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Brunswick Reformed Church, 3535 Grafton Road, Brunswick OH 44212.  The family will welcome guests before and after the celebration.
