Cecile Strojny, age 94 of Medina, passed away December 28, 2025.  She was born on March 14, 1931 in Akron, Ohio. Cecile earned her associates degree and worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Cecil Equipment Co. in Medina, and later, retired from CVS.

Cecile was a farm girl and had a passion for horses, especially in her younger years.  She loved to plant flowers and enjoyed playing cards with her friends.  Above all, her family was her greatest joy and she cherished all of the time she spent with them.

She is survived by her loving daughter Rebecca Schirmer (Glenn); cherished grandchildren Justin Young and Jennifer Pettry (Fred); and her beloved great grandchildren Alivia, Fred Michael and Matthew.  Cecile was preceded in death in 1994 by her husband of 33 years, Paul A. Strojny; her son Paul "Michael" Strojny; her parents Harvey and Gertrude Phelps; and her siblings Esther Hosey, Imogene Moss, Ellen Hardesty and Margaret McCreary.

Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Broadway Creek and Miracle City Hospice for the loving, compassionate care they showed to them and to Cecile.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina 44256.  A funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at the funeral home at 1:30 pm on Tuesday.  A private burial will take place at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick where she will be laid to rest with her husband Paul.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Cecile's memory to Miracle City Hospice, 9150 S Hills Blvd # 100, Broadview Heights, OH 44147.
