Chad Hanna Calvo

Chad Hanna Calvo, 60 years old, of Brunswick, Ohio, passed away on September 15, 2026. He was born on July 1, 1966, in Canton, Ohio to the late Paul B. and Patricia A. (Cornelius) Calvo.

From the beginning, Chad had a loving spirit, a bright sense of wonder, and an ability to find joy in the small everyday moments. His warmth and positive nature made him deeply special to everyone who knew him. Chad loved music, especially country music, and he was a devoted fan of Kenny Rogers. One of the highlights of his young life was a chance to meet his musical hero.

Chad was a shining light in this difficult world. He brought joy and happiness to all who met him. His kindness, love and even his stubbornness helped everyone become better human beings. He loved sharks, hats, singing and dancing. Whenever possible he would dance and sing, making it nearly impossible not to join him. Kitchen dancing was everyone’s favorite. Chad has gone on to sing and dance with the angels. We will all miss him and we are so honored to have known this extraordinary soul.

As an adult, Chad found joy and belonging through the friendships he formed with the staff and residents at his group home in Lodi and in Brunswick. He was also surrounded by the support, care and kindness of the many caregivers and staff connected with the Medina Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Transitional Living Center.

He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his sister Lori Lewis(James), his step-sisters Penny Blake and Pamela Moine (Mike Stebbins); step-brother Dave Maine (Cathy); step-nieces Lyndsey, Erin and Melanie Blake, Laura Maine; step-nephews Carl Bently, Jerohmy Myers, Aric Walker; nieces Abbey and Jessie Lewis, Rebecca Calvo; nephew Zach Lewis.

He is preceded in death by his father Paul Calvo; mother Patricia Calvo; step-mother Lois Calvo (Baker); brother Kim Calvo; sister Trudy Calvo; step-brother Doug Blake; step-sister Peggy Carl (Moine); step-niece Chelsea Blake.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm at West Lawn Cemetery 1919 7thSt NW Canton, OH 44078.

Like the Kenny Rogers song 'You Light Up my Life', Chad brought light, love and joy into the lives of those around him. He decorated our lives by painting his love all over our hearts.
