Obituary

Charles Sexton, age 90, graduated to Heaven on Saturday, November 30, 2024. He was born September 29, 1934, to Howard and Lizzie Sexton in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky. Charles was a dedicated working man and a devout follower of our Lord Jesus Christ. He desperately wanted to join his savior and beloved wife of 67 years, Wanda. He so looked forward to that day. Charles loved hunting and fishing, as well as the giant garden he grew every year. He and Wanda have probably broken 100,000 green beans in their lifetime. Charles enjoyed his houseboat (get away) on Carr Fork Lake. Charles was a tough man surviving falls from trees, roofs, tumbles down mountains and falling into lakes and being stuck in a folding ladder for hours. Charles worked in coal mines and a factory with average temperatures around one hundred degrees to provide for his family. He loved to do things around the church and sing songs of praise with Wanda. He was always involved with Jesus from Kentucky to Cleveland to Alabama, back to Corbin Kentucky then bought Wanda's old home place in Leatherwood Kentucky where he stayed until moving to Ohio, living with his son in 2023, due to health concerns. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to celebrate Charles' life are his loving children, David (Robin) and Steve (Peggy); his adoring grandchildren, Christopher (Kim ), Mary (Scott), Sable (Caleb), Dalton (Morgan); and precious great-grandchildren, Madison, Kayleen, Logan (Paige), Kara (Jake), Lucas, Mallee, Elsie Kate, and soon to be one more girl due in April, 2025; his great-great-grandson, Jasper; his brother, Roy (Margie); and many extended family and friends.

Other than his beloved Wanda, Charles is preceded in death by his son, Ralph; and siblings, James, Doris, Margaret, Coleman, Rence, Homer and Rosette; what a reunion it will be!

We are grateful for the care and love he was shown while living at the Echelon assisted living facility in Medina and for the passion and care of the Hospice of the Western Reserve. They went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable and at peace. Charles will be laid to rest with his wife Wanda in Kentucky. Thank you to everyone who touched his life.
