Colleen E. Snyder, 51, of Medina, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, in Medina.
She was born Sept. 30, 1957, in Lodi. Mrs. Snyder was a recipient of a Congressional Proclamation (Ohio 13th District) for her advocacy of the American Cancer Society at the local, state, and federal levels. The Colleen E. Snyder annual award has been named in her honor for work dedicated to the American Cancer Society. She was involved in Relay For Life - Team Recruitment Chair, fundraising, letter writing, public speaking, etc. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Litchfield United Church of Christ, volunteer for the Battered Women's Shelter, and a Boy Scout / Girl Scout leader and supporter. Mrs. Snyder received the 2008 A C S Hope Award.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Bill Snyder; sons, Joseph (fiance, Candie Proffit) Bukszar of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew (fiance, Emily Roetzel) Snyder of Parma, and Patrick Snyder of Medina; parents, Don and Carol (nee Law) Cullin of Litchfield; grandson, Aiden Bukszar; sisters, Dawn Clower and Rebecca (Russ) Geisinger; brother, Bradley (Connie) Clower; one niece; and three nephews ,including special nephew Godson Brenndan Clower.A special place in Colleen's heart was held by Laurie Yost,Ezra,Isabel and Estella Ohly,Tabitha and Abigail Reese. She also will be greatly missed by loving friend Debbie Vasel and many other dear friends .
Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Waite & Son Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, 765 N. Court St. Pastor Will Smith will officiate.
Burial: Litchfield Cemetery.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
