Christina "Tia" Shafer age 50 of Sarasota, Florida passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2019. Tia was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on December 10, 1968 to Stan and Mary (Bryant). She graduated from Westerville North High School and lived in Medina, Ohio for 5 years prior to relocating to Sarasota.

Tia had a great love for the outdoors, she could often be found out enjoying the beach, biking, or kayaking. She was known for her 'morning cup' of Hazelnut coffee, and was always listening to contemporary Country music, Classic Rock, and anything 70's!

She is survived by her parents, Stan and Mary (Bryant) Shafer; son, Brandon Shafer-Zatko of Parma, OH; daughters, Madeline Rearick of Medina, OH and Stephanie Roberts of Spencer, OH; and brothers, Nicholas Shafer of Medina, OH and Robert Shafer also of Medina, OH; along with many friends.

Tia was preceded in death by her brother, S. Andrew Shafer.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with an hour of visitation prior to the service at the funeral home with Uncle George (Bryant) and Pastor Rebecca Lawson officiating. Tia's burial will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Friends and family are invited immediately following the memorial service to the Shafer's house for lunch and celebrating Tia's life.
