Daniel M. Fox

Daniel Melvin Fox, age 73, passed away peacefully in Akron, Ohio, on August 10, 2026. He was born in Lakewood, Ohio, to the late Edward and Mary (nee Baker) Fox.

Daniel dedicated more than 48 years of his life to serving as a groundskeeper at The Sharon Golf Club, where his hard work and dedication were deeply appreciated. He had a lifelong love of sports and competition. In his younger years, Daniel enjoyed raising chickens and participating in 4-H. He especially enjoyed playing golf and bowling, earning countless awards and recognitions throughout his years in golf and bowling leagues. His accomplishments in bowling earned him a place in the Special Olympics Hall of Fame.

Daniel was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He found great joy in following his favorite teams and sharing his enthusiasm for sports with those around him.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Fox; his sister, Monica Cavey; and his brother, Matt Fox.

He is survived by his siblings, Larry (Diane) Fox, Mary (Mike) Cole, Phil (Samantha) Fox, Joe (Sharon) Fox, Celestia Fox, and Carol (Brian) Mullen; sister-in-law, Judy Fox; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A committal service will follow at Granger Fairview Cemetery.
