Obituary

Daniel Stephen Salajcik, 76, of Lodi, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Dan was born on August 12, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Steven and Elizabeth (Kominar) Salajcik.

At 18 years old, shortly after graduating high school, Dan was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, carrying the values of courage and loyalty with him throughout his life.

Following his military service, Dan dedicated 25 years as a diesel mechanic for Brunswick City Schools, where he retired in 2005.

Outside of work, Dan was an avid motorcycle rider who found freedom on the open road. He was also a lifelong enthusiast of classic trucks and cars, reflecting his love for craftsmanship and history.

Dan's greatest joy came from his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 22 years with whom he shared countless cherished memories.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly (Cheyney) Salajick; children Danny Salajcik and Cj Salajcik; stepchildren Neil Creswell and Keith (Cassandra) Creswell; grandchildren Chance, Aubrey, Josie, Hudson, and Delilah; special nieces and nephews Corrina (Alex) Cheyney with their son Maxie Persinger, Jesse (Krystal) Cheyney with their sons Jase, and Otto; and lifelong friend Richie Merhaut.

For 18 years, Dan was a proud member of the Lodi American Legion, where he continued his commitment to fellow veterans and his community.

Dan will be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, his love of family, and his passion for the Cleveland Browns. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, OH 44212, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
