Daniel John
Smolinski
Jan 2, 1961 — Aug 16, 2026
Parma, Ohio
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel John Smolinski, 65, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Parma, Ohio, who left us unexpectedly on August 16, 2026. Born on January 22, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, Daniel was the beloved son of the late John and Florece Smolinski. Daniel's early life in Parma laid the foundation for a journey defined by ambition and commitment. A proud 1979 graduate of Parma High School, he pursued further education, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. Daniel initially showcased his talents in technology, working on computers and developing software at EDS for KeyBank. However, his heart led him to his family's legacy when he took over Hilltop Bakery in 1989, a cherished establishment that had been in his family for generations. He dedicated himself to preserving this beloved bakery, ensuring it remained a cornerstone of the community. Beyond his professional pursuits, Daniel was a joyous spirit who cherished time spent with family. He bought a motor home to create lasting memories on the road, cherishing the great outdoors and the adventures it brought. An enthusiastic sports lover, Daniel found happiness in the simple joys of life, often sharing these passions with those he loved. Daniel was a devote Catholic. He will be fondly remembered for his warm heart and the love he shared, especially with his twin sister, Diane (Stanley) Trybala; his brother, Dennis Smolinski; his cherished niece and goddaughter, Jillian Smolinski; and his niece, Danielle Trybala. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Janet Smolinski. Cremation will take place, and funeral services will be held at a later date to celebrate Daniel’s life and legacy. Details regarding the ceremonies and gatherings will be communicated to family and friends to ensure all who knew and loved him can pay their respects. For those wishing to express their condolences, messages of comfort and support may be sent to Daniel's family at www.waitefuneralhome.com. May Daniel John Smolinski's spirit continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate to know him. His memory will live on in our hearts.
