Darryl O'Neil Mason departed this world on March 29, 2024 at the age of 58. Darryl was born March 3, 1966 in Marion, South Carolina. Darryl was preceded in death by his father, Carl Mason Sr., mother Rachel Elizabeth Mason (Moody), and his brother Carl Mason Jr. as well as, two special family friends, Marty Keith and Nathan Howard. Darryl is survived by his sister Cheryl Mason (Rick), Loving Partner Natalie Elsbrock, nieces Brianna and Jaelyn Mason and nephew Wesley Mason. During High School, Darryl was a star athlete, playing basketball and quarterback for the football team, leading his teams to championships. This continued into adulthood with him playing in men's basketball leagues and bowling leagues for many years. Darryl was an avid supporter of the Michigan Wolverines football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chicago Cubs. Darryl loved to wear his Michigan and Steelers gear to provoke controversy. Darryl's love of sports carried over into coaching youth football in Madeira, Ohio for the Mustangs, the same name as his Pee-Wee football team. Darryl was a kind soul, who lit up the room with his smile and laughter. He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.
