David Ray Case, age 88, of Medina, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026.
He was born on February 1, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Forest and Elma Case. David was married to his beloved wife, Ruby Case (née Higgins), for 67 years before her passing in 2024. Together, they built a loving family and shared a lifetime of devotion.
David was a skilled Tool and Die specialist and dedicated more than 30 years of service to General Motors Chevrolet plant, in Parma Ohio. He was also a civil servant, beginning a career as a fireman with the Brunswick Hills Fire Dept, and serving and retiring as Fire Chief with Medina Township Fire Dept. Known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship, he took great pride in working with his hands. In his free time, he found joy in woodworking and carving, creating many furniture and toys, especially many cradles for family and friends. He also was an active member of Wednesday Night Dart Club in Seville, OH.
Above all, David was a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He cherished his family deeply and leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and quiet strength.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruby, and his sister, Sandra Pavelschak.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Darlene (John) Williams, David (Robin) Case, and Deniece Case (Kevin Sprankle); grandchildren, Christie (Jeff) O'Quinn, Brittney (Brandyn) Street, and James David Vithous; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Declan O'Quinn; sister, Donna Smith; close cousin Gini Kucmanic, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 20, 2026 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Waite Funeral Home 765 N Court St., Medina, OH. Funeral Service will be Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Waite Funeral Home. David will be laid to rest alongside his wife at Eastlawn Cemetery, Brunswick, OH.
David will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
