David Francis Sullivan

David Sullivan, age 69, passed away on September 10, 2026. He was born on January 6, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Francis and Olga Sullivan. David is survived by his beloved wife Gloria, cherished daughters Rebecca (Nicholas Green), and Autumn (fiancé Collin Leyden); treasured grandchildren Aurora, and Everly. He was a dear uncle to Mark, Mary, Jennifer, Trang, Carol, Bill, Rob, Christopher, Roxanne, Sherice, Michael, Natasha, Tisha, Alan, and the late Ray, and great-uncle to many; son in law to John J. Webster (Joyce Webster).

David is preceded in death by his dear brothers Mark, Michael, and Brad Sullivan.

David was a proud United States Marine Veteran.

As a child growing up in North Park, he loved fishing and trapping with his father and brothers. In adolescence his family moved to Cleveland, Ohio where David graduated from Brooklyn High School. From there, he went on to Ohio State University and ultimately decided to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. Upon joining the Marines, he met his wife Gloria and some time after, they got married on Valentine's Day 1979. They enjoyed going to the beach with family and friends, playing cards and listening to records while they lived on base, before David was honorably discharged. At that time, they moved to Medina, Ohio to reunite with Dave's parents and brothers.

In adulthood, there was nothing David enjoyed more than being a father to his two daughters Rebecca and Autumn Sullivan. He loved teaching his girls to golf from the time they were old enough to hold a club so they could enjoy his favorite past time with him. He also loved taking them to feed the ducks and have adventures in the metro parks, going on numerous family road trips to visit with his brother Mark Sullivan in Florida, family in Pittsburgh, and North Carolina, going to amusement parks, Hinckley Lake, movies, Christmas traditions, school events, and countless other activities. One of David's favorite things would definitely have to be a delicious family dinner prepared by his mother, Olga or his wife Gloria Sullivan. David loved hosting holiday dinners for friends, and family.

Upon retirement, David enjoyed more golf, going to the farmers market in Lodi, shopping estate sales, visiting the train shop in Medina square, trips to the West Side Market, attending the Citizens Police Academy, and quality time with family. One of his greatest joys in later life was becoming a grandfather to Aurora and later, Everly. His oldest granddaughter Aurora Sullivan was born on Easter 2020, and the first thing he did was go out to the store to make sure she had an Easter basket upon coming home. This is just one example of many of how he showed up and cared for his family. He never missed a birthday, school event, holiday, sick day, recital, a weekly bakery treat for Aurora, or just a random Tuesday. He loved making memories with his granddaughters.

David's kind heart, creative mind, generosity, and endless storytelling will be greatly missed by friends, and family alike. May God Bless his soul.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 3-7pm & Friday September 18, 2026, from 10-10:45am at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, Ohio.
