Deliliah Jane Matthews, 89, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009.
Deliliah was born October 31, 1919, in Mohegan, West Virginia to Fred and Martha Adeline Letner. Deliliah was truly a caring person that enjoyed taking care of others. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and cooking. She loved the ocean and spent a number of years in Manteo, North Carolina.
Deliliah lived a very full life. All who shared in her life were certainly touched and enriched by her. Deliliah will be truly missed.
Deliliah is survived by her son, Donald (Marybeth) Farmer; Grandchildren - Debra, Steve, and Chad; Great-grandchildren — Marshall, Bobbie, and Jacob; Sister — Evelyn Bishop. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Deliliah was preceded in death by her husband, John Matthews; Parents — Fred and Martha Adeline Letner; Sisters — Rosetta, Mary, Delores, and Laura Jane; Brothers — Clyde, Bob, Ernest, Fred, and John.
Private family burial at St. Luke's Memorial Park, Isle of Wight County, Virginia.
