Deloris J.
Peters
August 2, 1947 – June 30, 2025
Deloris Jean Peters (Stone) passed away June 30, 2025, in Seville, Ohio. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and more. Deloris lived with her heart wide open, radiating kindness, compassion and unwavering love. Her laugh could light up a room and she had a true gift for making others feel welcome and seen. Her genuine kindness and unconditional love were a reflection of her deep-rooted faith, and her love will continue to live on in all those who knew her.
Deloris was born on August 2, 1947 in Olive Hill, KY, where she spent her early childhood before moving to Beckley, WV. It was there that she met her loving husband of 62 years. They planted their roots early on in Medina County, OH, where Deloris poured her heart and soul into raising her children and grandchildren.
Deloris is survived by her husband Jesse Peters; her children Betty Ann Barnum, Jo Anne (Ed) Miller and Jesse Peters, Jr.; her grandchildren Jessica (Josh) Tanner, Jenna (John) Norton, Katlyn (Aric) Kuppe, Emily (Dillon) Wilson, Morgan (Caleb) Hartzler, Paige (Brandon) Hayes, Taylor Barnum and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four loving siblings and their families. Deloris had a way of making strangers feel like friends and friends feel like family. For this, she leaves behind a legacy of love with those she considered her bonus kids and grandkids.
Deloris is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Norma Stone, and her siblings Hertis Stone, Opal Darlington, Faye Jackson, Bobby Stone, Barbara Stone Wahrenberger and Rondal Stone.
A memorial gathering will be held from 12-1:00 PM on Saturday July 5, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH, 44256. A Celebration of Deloris' Life will immediately follow at 1:00 PM, Saturday, at the funeral home.
Though we say goodbye to Deloris here on this earth, we find comfort in knowing her life was beautifully lived and her legacy was love. Her presence was a gift, her love a guiding light and her impact immeasurable. We carry her spirit forward in the way we love others, offer kindness and cherish family. Her story doesn't end here; it lives on in all that knew her.
