Delvin Edward
Haut
October 8, 1934 – September 12, 2025
Delvin Edward Haut, age 90, of Brunswick, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2025. Delvin was born on October 8th, 1934, in East Sparta, Ohio to the late Marvin W. and Elizabeth S. (Geiger) Haut. Delvin was affectionately nicknamed Jiggs and carried this name with him throughout his life.
Jiggs joined the United States Air Force at the age of 19, where he worked as a mechanic on the B-52 Bomber aircraft. He was honorably discharged on October 8th, 1957, after 4 years of service. Shortly after, he married Mary Ann Calendine, and together they enjoyed 68 years of marriage. After leaving the Air Force, Jiggs became employed by East Ohio Gas Company where he worked for 33 years until he retired in 1993. In his personal life, Jiggs was a member of Holy Martyrs Catholic Church in Medina, Ohio. In his free time, he loved to hunt, fish, bowl, play euchre, and plant a garden each year at their family home.
Jiggs' love for these things was nothing compared to the love of his family. He and Mary Ann raised five cherished children together, Denise, Patricia, Jeanette, Barbara, and Timothy. Through their daily actions, they exemplified the compassionate values they held for both family and community. His late son-in-law, Dana, once reflected that he and Mary Ann embodied the sentiment, "they don't preach life, they live by example."
Jiggs is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his children, Denise (Dana) Colton, Patricia (Tim) Duncan, Jeanette (John) Yaronczyk, Barbara (Jeff) Maund, and Timothy (Shelly) Haut; seven grandchildren, Danielle Colton, Nick Duncan, Natalie Duncan, Nicole (Tyler) Irwin, Nate (Jess) Zisko, Ashley (Nick) Breidigam, Timothy Haut and Sedona & Molly Yaronczyk; great-grandchildren, Roland Irwin, Reese Irwin, and Adalyn Briedigam; and sisters-in-law Marilyn and Diana Haut.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Elizabeth; twin brother, Melvin (Marilyn); sisters Gracie and Helen Haut; and brothers Howard (Diana) and Thomas Haut.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice for their attentive and tender care in the last days of Jiggs' life.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 4-8 pm at the Waite Funeral Home in Medina and on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 9-10 am at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church: 3100 Old Weymouth Rd., Medina, OH 44256, with A Mass of Christian Burial following at 10 am. Interment will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Online messages of comfort and support may be shared with Jiggs' family at www.waitefuneralhome.com .
