In Loving Memory of Dennis S. Hood

With deep sorrow, we share that Dennis Hood was called home to heaven on May 30, 2025, at the age of 76. Our beloved husband, father, and papa lived a life of integrity, kindness, and generosity, leaving an enduring legacy of faith and devotion.

Raised on his family's dairy farm on Hood Road in Medina, Ohio, Dennis was the youngest son of John Norbert and Irene Hood, prominent members in the community. Upon graduating from Medina High School in 1966, Dennis pursued his education at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business and agriculture in 1970.

His journey led him to Columbus, Ohio, where in 1974 he married the love of his life, Linda Mabe, while working as General Manager of F. W. Woolworth Company. He later established, owned, and operated Hood Home Inspections in Wadsworth, Ohio for over 30 years.

Dennis and Linda's marriage lasted 50 beautiful years, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Their journey together took them through Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota, before eventually returning home to Ohio, where they continued building a life centered around family, faith, and service. For the last 15 years, Dennis dedicated his time and energy to Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child, a nonprofit organization that sends gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need worldwide alongside the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Dennis is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, his devoted children Carey (Rob) Steidl, Sarah (John) Neider, and Timothy (Lauryn) Hood, as well as his beautiful granddaughters Mia (18), Emily (11), Beatrice (11), and Evelyn (9 weeks).

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Waite Funeral Home 765 N Court St., Medina, Ohio.  Funeral Service on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Waite Funeral Home, Medina, Ohio, Rev. Jerry Butcher, officiating; burial following at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Medina, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse in Dennis' honor, continuing his passion for Operation Christmas Child.
