Doris M Schemrich

Doris M. Schemrich, age 96, peacefully passed away Monday, June 29, 2026. She was born September 19, 1929, in Brunswick, Ohio to Alfred and Esther (nee Forrer) Gerspacher. Doris served as a dispatcher for Schemrich Bros. Trucking and on the Medina County Fair Board. She also volunteered her time for the ‘Brunswick Old Fashioned Days.’ Doris enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards, bingo and jigsaw puzzles. Above all, Doris loved spending time with, and making a home for, her family.

Left to celebrate Doris’ life are her loving children, Kevin (Karen) Schemrich and Judy (Tom) Crow; her cherished grandchildren, Cassandra (Jason) Osborne, Ian (Jenni) Crow, Julie Schemrich, and Dana (Matt) Melvin; adorable great-grandchildren, Owen, Carter, Allison, Evie, Rylee, Edith and George; and many extended family and friends.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. “George” (2017); her siblings, Edith Morton, Ruth Hier and Elmer Gerspacher.

Family will welcome visitors from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick, OH. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, July 8th at the funeral home with interment to follow at Eastlawn Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Doris’ memory to a charity of your choice.
