Dorothy Delores Rymer, age 86, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026. Born on May 27, 1939, to the late Adolph and Wanda Schindler, Dorothy lived a life defined by deep faith, devoted love for her family, and genuine care for those around her.
She was the beloved wife of Reinhart Rymer for 67 years — a partnership built on shared faith, laughter, and an enduring commitment to one another and to their family. Together they created a home that was a steady source of warmth and love for generations.
Dorothy was a proud and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in cheering on her children and grandchildren through their sports and activities over the years, and in her later years, delighted in the many great-grandchildren who called her theirs. Family was her greatest treasure.
Her faith was central to who she was. Dorothy was part of the founding team of Heartland Community Church in 1997 and remained an active, faithful member for nearly three decades, serving in many capacities with quiet dedication.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Reinhart; sons Mark (Kathy), daughter-in-law Jen, and Eric (Susan) Rymer; grandchildren Emilie, Nicole, Danny, Malory, Ashley, Casey, Stephanie, Chris, and Josh; 16 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Wanda Schindler; her sister, Ruth Pech; and her son, Ron Rymer.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Heartland Community Church, 3400 Weymouth Rd., Medina, Ohio 44256. Visitation will be held from 10:00–12:00 p.m., followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. with a luncheon to follow.
