Douglas Lynn Hoobler, 70, of Medina, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Doug was born on May 28, 1955, in Canton, Ohio, the son of the late David and Barbara (Byrd) Hoobler.

Doug grew up in Louisville, Ohio, and graduated from Louisville High School in 1973. He retired from Nortel Communications following 25 years of service. Doug was an avid gardener and loved tending to his vegetables. He also enjoyed fishing and camping, primarily at Leesville Lake. Doug was proud of his 70’s Triumph, which he was in the process of restoring. He was also a huge fan of both the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians.

He is survived by his loving sister, Jean (Dwight) Chewning; nephews and niece, Robert (Duyen) Dietrich, Scott Dietrich, Richard (Marie) Dietrich, and Alena (Spencer Zickefoose) Chewning; great – nephews, Adam (Destinee) Dietrich, Hunter Dietrich and Nolan Dietrich; and his special friend, Susan Mullins.
