Douglas J. Kirchner, Sr., 78, passed away December 20, 2025.

He was born in Euclid on July 25, 1947 to Donald and Iris (Millican) Kirchner.

Douglas is survived by his children, Julianne (Ronald) Ziegler, Doug (Katie) Kirchner, and Rachel (Michael) Blouir; grandchildren, Nathanael Ziegler, Ian, Mason, and Eli Kirchner, Christian, Giovanni, and Adelina Bottiggi; a brother, Dale Kirchner; and a sister, Deborah Kirchner.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Bernice; and a granddaughter, Skyler Kirchner.

Douglas was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller. He was an avid history buff and had worked in multiple ministries throughout his life.

Visitation will be held from 3-6 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd., Brunswick, with a time of sharing at 5:30 p.m. Committal services will take place at 1:15 pm, Monday, December 29, 2025, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville. Please meet at Waite Funeral Home at 12 noon for procession to the cemetery.
