The earthly end of watch arrived for Doug on October 23, 2026. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Bodnar) for sixty-three years; loving father of Camille (August) Horvath and Michelle Holmes; devoted Dzia Dza to Drew (Ellie) Horvath, Alex (Kendra) Horvath, Jacob (Erica) Stolarski, Marissa (Joe) Streszoff, Ava Arlia, and Vanessa Arlia; doting Dzia Dza the Great to Savvy, Addie, Vivi, and Mason; brother to Al (Mary Ellen), Greg (Christi), and Ray (Chris); uncle to many. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Jean Stolarski. After proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force, Doug continued to follow the call to serve and protect as a police officer. Though law enforcement defined him publicly, his greatest role was as “The Dzia.”
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Medina Hospice for their compassion and care.
