Dr. Dennis J. Schirripa, DDS

Dr. Dennis Schirripa, a devoted family man whose generosity and spirit touched everyone he met, passed away surrounded by the love of those he cherished most. Family was the center of Dennis’s world, and he lived every day with a deep sense of loyalty, pride, and affection for the people around him. 

A proud graduate of St. Edward High School and John Carroll University, Dennis followed in his father’s footsteps and built a respected dental practice in Medina, serving his community for more than 50 years. His patients knew him not only as a skilled professional, but as a kind, passionate dentist who made every visit feel personal. He took genuine pride in helping people, and the relationships he built with his patients were as meaningful to him as the work itself. 

Dennis held his Italian heritage close to his heart, embracing the traditions, values, and strong sense of family that shaped his life. As a devoted Catholic, his faith was a constant source of strength and guidance. His greatest admiration was reserved for his mother, whom he loved deeply. Dennis also had much love for his brothers, Richard and Gary, and his cousin Rocky, all whom he admired deeply. 

Outside of his family, Dennis was an enthusiastic sports fan who rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his Cleveland teams, along with his favorite college football teams. He also enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, and fishing, especially his trips to Canada with friends. 

Many of his happiest moments were spent in his smoke room, where he enjoyed a glass of wine and a cigar or pipe while watching sports, sharing stories, laughing, and having meaningful conversations with family and friends. It was a place where everyone felt welcome and where countless memories were made. 

He treasured time at Chippewa Lake, especially at the Rigaden, his cottage, with family and friends. 

Dennis was a kid at heart. He loved his sports cars and had a deep love for all of his Golden Retrievers, as their companionship brought him endless joy throughout the years. 

Dennis was truly one of a kind. His love for his family, unwavering loyalty, and boundless generosity made him the kind of man whose influence cannot be measured and whose place can never be filled. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, Ohio.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m., with 1 hour of visitation prior, at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Rd., Brunswick, Ohio.
