Edward Deforest Curren III, 77, of Strongsville, Ohio passed away on November 5, 2025. He was born on December 7, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Edward and Rheta (Persaul) Deforest Curren, Jr. Edward served his country in the US Army and retired from the Army Reserves. After earning his master's degree, he was employed in international credit management for Union Carbide and Babcock & Wilcox. Edward was a member of the International Credit Group; his knowledge leading him to write a course on international trade regulations. He was an active member of Medina United Methodist Church serving in 'Keeping Connected' and attending the Romeo lunch group. Every Tuesday he had lunch with his veteran friends.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 56 Years, Carol (Lombard) Curren; children Edward Deforest Curren IV and Christopher Curren (Megan); grand-children Hannah, Oliver and Delilah; brother David Curren; nieces and nephew Brian Curren, Emily Curren (Evan Smith), Kimberly Maxwell (Scott) and Kristin Lichtenberg; and a lifetime of collected friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Curren.
Family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am, Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Medina United Methodist Church, 4747 Foote Rd, Medina, OH 44256. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 11:00 am, Tuesday, at the church.
Burial with military honors will be held at 10:15 am, Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville, OH 44273. Please meet at the funeral home at 9:15 am Wednesday to join the procession.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital
