On October 19, 2024, Elaine Marks passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.  She was 83 years old.

Born in Pennsylvania, she relocated as a young adult to Ohio. She worked in Cleveland at Sherwin Williams- a job that she loved, and where she met many lifetime friends.

Elaine was well-loved in her small town of Chatham. She became a small shopkeeper and artisan, weaving beautiful basketry and teaching others to do the same. Throughout her life she was active in her church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved gardening and was an excellent seamstress. Most important to Elaine was her family.

Her husband Don Marks, who predeceased her on March 19,2022, was the love of her life.  Her daughter Amy (Marks) Chapman predeceased her suddenly in 1991. She missed them immensely and found comfort in knowing that they would be reunited in heaven.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Marks) Cook, her sister Marianne, and her brother David, along with numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts. Please join us in celebrating Elaine's life and legacy.

The family will receive friends on November 2, 2024, from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256 followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. to celebrate Elaine's life.  She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Don, at Chatham Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Arbors of Bedford and Bayada Hospice for their compassionate care during Elaine's illness.
