Elbert Francis Keene, 80, of Medina, went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 30, 2026. Elbert was born on February 17, 1945, in Richlands, Virginia, the son of the late Elbert N. and Arizona Marie Keene.
Elbert retired from Ford Motor Company in 1999. He was currently serving as the Administrative Pastor at West 58th Street Church of God where he was teaching and preaching the Word of God and an encourager to all. Elbert was a true Servant of God. He was a loyal and faithful husband, father, and grandfather. He was hardworking, outgoing, and caring. He loved his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law. Elbert loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Douglas Keene, sister-in-law, Christine Keene, nephew, Jimmy Keene, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Charline Houchins.
He is survived by his wife, Deanna (Houchins) Keene, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage; children, Donna (Richard) Corker, Laura (Michael) Sweet, Jackie (Meredith) Keene-Raimondo, and Ken (Kelly) Keene; grandchildren, Kyle (Jennifer) Corker, Aaron (Alaina) Corker, Nicole Sweet, Cory Corker, Lorna (Jose) Cabello, Chelsea Corker, Destin (Payton) Keene, Cole Jennings, Aiden Keene and Layla Keene; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, James Michael Keene; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Garrison and Yvette Houchins; and brother-in-law, Pete (Sue) Houchins; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 5-8 pm at West 58th Street Church of God: 3150 W. 58th Street, Cleveland, OH, 44102 and from 10-11 am on Thursday, with the funeral service at 11 am. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West 58th Street Church Food Bank.
