Elizabeth Acord

Aug 28, 1960 — Jul 6, 2026

Elizabeth A. Acord, 65, of Washington, Pennsylvania, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Elizabeth was born on August 28, 1960, in Quezon City, Philippines, a daughter of the late Antonio and Virginia Luna. Elizabeth’s life was centered around her faith, and her family. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Elyria, and Holy Love Ministries (a religious organization) in North Ridgeville, Ohio. She loved and was very dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary; prayed the rosary daily, watched daily Masses on EWTN, which played an important part in her life and a source of strength throughout the years.

In addition to staying active at church, she loved to garden, lived a natural lifestyle, and loved spending time with her family. She had a great sense of humor, always had a smile on her face, and was generous and kind and always willing to help people through scripture readings and prayers. She also enjoyed floral arranging and loved listening to the Beatles.

Surviving are her daughter, Christina M. (Rob Paredes) Acord of Washington; son, Brian (Osvaldo Salazar) Acord of San Francisco, CA; brother, Elmer Luna; two sisters, Helen (Mike) Lanzarotta, and Eileen Luna, Ohio; three grandchildren, Josephine (Josey), Lucas, and Nathan Dzikowski; nieces and nephews, Tim, Julie, Diana, Rachel, Jamie, and Mikey; and former son-in-law, Dan Dzikowski.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Wilfred Luna and Dennis Luna. She fought the good fight. She finished the race. She kept the faith.

In lieu of flowers, contributions will be graciously accepted in Elizabeth’s name to any of the following worthy causes close to her heart: EWTN (5817 Old Leeds Rd. Irondale AL 35210), Holy Love Ministries or Mass intentions at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday July 12, 2026, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Rd, Brunswick, OH 44212. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday July 13, at 10:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Parish, 929 Pearl Rd, Brunswick, OH. She will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following mass. All are encouraged to meet for a meal and remembrance at St Ambrose Church following the interment.
