Elizabeth Ann
"Betty Ann" Fanara
September 9, 1934 – May 10, 2025
Elizabeth Ann, "Betty Ann" Fanara, age 90, lived a life devoted to faith, family, creativity, and service. She shared 68 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Tom, and found joy in her family, art, nature, and especially her great faith.
A skilled artisan and creative thinker, Betty Ann's special talent was in transforming the ordinary into the beautiful bringing joy to all those who experienced the work of her masterful hands or thoughtful words.
Betty Ann was tireless, living her life balancing hard work with her passion for God. She brought faith and love into all her roles including as a Correction Officer, a Medical Records Supervisor and her most cherished roles as wife, mother, sacristan and soloist in her church. Her profound devotion to Mother Mary was evident in the statues she lovingly cared for in her garden. Her greatest pleasure came in the years spent hand-crafting holy cards, believing in their power to spread God's message through her, and handing out angel medals, reminding strangers that their guardian angel was always watching.
Betty Ann truly embodied St. Francis' words, "Preach the gospel every day. If necessary, use words." Betty Ann's legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Betty Ann is survived by her husband Tom and daughters Celine, Anne, Mary, Angela and Carla, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and sisters Mary Jane and Cindy. She was preceded in death by her sister Margie and grandson Robby.
