Ella Rose Fink, age 4 of Medina, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25, 2020, after a 10 month battle with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). She was born on August 10, 2016 in Medina to Jimmy & Hillary (Massey) Fink.

Ella was a firecracker from day one, the quintessential "second child". She loved to be held, and would always ask Mommy to "picky up". She was always by Mommy's side, but was Daddy's girl at the same time. It was her quick wit and humor that brought them together. Ella and her big sister, Lilly, were best friends and enjoyed much of the same things, but Ella's love for stuffed animals and baby dolls was unmatched and a bit overwhelming at times! Another best friend of Ella's was her loyal dog, Lois. Lois stayed by her side nearly every second of her illness, especially near the end.

Ella was a Summer-girl, spending hours and many full summer days in the pool. After Ella endured 30 rounds of radiation, we focused on making special memories. In the Spring it was jumping in muddy puddles, riding her trike, and spending hours walking along the curbs of our neighborhood while she regained her strength and worked off the steroid weight she gained through treatment. As Summer rolled around and the world was shutting down, our vacation plans were postponed until God revealed a better plan for us, and we ended up staying 12 days soaking in the beautiful Gulf shores of Alabama and Destin, Florida. This is where Ella learned to swim without floaties, an accomplishment she enjoyed hundreds of times over as she jumped and swam in the deep end of our neighborhood pool the rest of the summer. As Summer ended and Fall rolled around, Ella's right eyelid began to droop and an MRI confirmed that the tumor was returning. We continued making memories and enjoyed Ramseyer Farms twice where she went down the big slides all by herself. By the beginning of November it became clear that an early Christmas was in order so on November 14th we had a magical early Christmas with the support of A Special Wish and the wonderful people of Medina and far beyond.

Ella's short earthly life touched so many, as the Lord used her to bring people closer together, and closer to Him. Ella loves Jesus and knows that He loves her the most. It is only fitting that she went to be with Jesus on the day we celebrate His birthday. As Lilly put it, "She is the perfect birthday gift for Jesus!"

Ella is survived by her parents Jimmy and Hillary Fink and her sister, Lilly Fink. Grandparents Jim and Christine Fink, and Mark and Marcia Massey. Great grandparents Lucille Barniak, and Jack and Shirley Massey. Aunts Chelsea, Samantha, Rhiannon, and Annie. Uncle Russell. Cousins Lexy and Cameron. Many, many loving friends.

Ella was preceded in death by great grandpa Thomas Barniak, and great grand parents Lloyd and Doris Smith.

A Celebration of Ella's life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 16, 2020 at Grace Church, Medina East Campus, 2325 Medina Rd. Medina, OH 44256.
