Elmer Michael Streno, age 86, passed away on November 2, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Michael and Anna Streno.

After graduating from high school, Elmer proudly served in the United States Army and Air Force. He later worked in the steel industry in both Pittsburgh and Cleveland for over 40 years.

Elmer was a classic movie buff—especially fond of Westerns and military films—and an avid collector of die-cast model cars. He was also a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan. A longtime member of St. Emilian Church, Elmer enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly working in his yard. Quiet by nature, he cherished moments with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Magdalene (nee Washlock); his parents; and his sister, Marlene Kiedaisch.

Elmer is survived by his children Michael (Christine) Streno, Debbie (Don) Churik, and Cheryl Streno; and his grandchildren Joshua (Heather Nelson) Churik, Amanda Streno, and Luke (Jenna) Churik; and great-grandchildren Addison Churik, Matthew and Emilia Churik.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St., Medina, OH 44256, with the Parastas service at 7:15 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Emilian Church, 1231 Substation Rd., Brunswick, OH 44212. Elmer will be laid to rest alongside his wife in Spring Grove Cemetery.
