Finnick Damian-Paul Gomez

Finnick Damian-Paul “Finn” Gomez, beloved son of Michael Kanya and Kalyssa Gomez, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2026. Born on July 22, 2026, Finn’s life was far too brief, but the love he brought into the world was immeasurable.

Affectionately known as “Finny the Frog,” Finn was a sweet and happy baby whose little personality was already beginning to shine. He smiled frequently, and he loved being wrapped snugly in his towel after bath time. He found comfort cuddling with his dad before bed, safe and content in his arms. Even at such a young age, Finn had a way of making his family smile—from his adorable “concentrating” face to the surprisingly grown-up sounds that could come from such a tiny little boy (they laugh at how he could “fart and poop like a grown man”).

Finn was deeply loved by his parents, Michael and Kalyssa; his sister, Koda; his grandparents, Mamaw Connie, Papa Damian, Grandma Renee, and Grandpa Aaron; his aunts and uncles, Titi Lina, Tio Eric, Tio Blade, Tio Terry, Tio Gage, Titi Anna, Uncle Matt, Aunt Kaylee, Aunt Nikki, and Aunt Lilly; his cousins, Nyla, Kalilah, Luka, Delilah, and Willow; his great-grandparents, Nancy, Damian, Elaine, and Josephine; his godmother, Selena; his godfather, Nicholas; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Ronald.

Though Finn was here for only a short time, his life was filled with tenderness—the sound of his parents’ voices, warm cuddles, bathtime snuggles, and the love of a family who cherished every moment they were given with him. His absence leaves a sorrow beyond words, but the memories of his sweet smile and the love he inspired will remain with his family always.

Finn’s family and friends will gather from 3:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick.
