Frank "Butch"
Leonard Dull
August 1, 1938 – December 12, 2024
Frank "Butch" Leonard Dull was born August 1, 1938, to Dayton and Dragina Dull. He joined the family in heaven on December 12, 2024, at the age of 86. His children and dedicated aides have cared for him for the last few years in the home that he and his wife built in 1964. He passed in the same home, surrounded by many memories and pictures.
Butch met his future wife, Barbara (Aungst), when she served him food at a local drive in. They married on February 27, 1960, at St Francis Xavier Church in Medina. Barb's parents gave them a beautiful slice of the farm to build their family home on. One that will remain with the family to ensure the legacy of the farm.
Butch lived his entire life in Medina and graduated from Medina High School. He worked on the assembly line at Parma Chevrolet for many years, until disability led to retirement.
He and Barb supported their children and grandchildren in all their school, 4-H, equine, and church activities; Butch liked helping with many of their projects. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where Barb was the primary organist for years. Butch and Barb were members of the COSCA horse show group for many years, where he was the president at one time. COSCA provided music for the participants to use during the shows. Butch was the head technician of keyboards and speakers, as well as the designated driver of the trailer, so he could support Barb as she played beautiful music for many of the shows.
Aside from COSCA, he was a member of the Coon Club in Lafayette Township with his dad. Butch loved to hunt with his beagles, fish, do archery, bowl, and build/fly hobby planes. He also made and sold fishing lures at one time. He, and the entire Dull family, would take yearly trips to a lake and cottage get-away in Canada. Butch loved to play basketball, baseball, and ride ATVs with his children. A near-fatal accident in 1964, on his way home from work, caused an injury that would not allow him to do much rough housing the rest of his life.
Butch was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years in 2010, Barbara; his parents; brother-in law, Ron; and his in-laws, Paul and Marian.
He is survived by his children, Becky (Larry) Plummer, Bonnie Haury, and Brian Dull; his grandchildren, Lynn Plummer, Jason Plummer, Tyler Haury, Cody Haury, and Kathy (Dustin) Reid; his great-grandchildren, Isaac and Cameron Reid; his sister-in-law, Rose; and many nieces, nephews and cherished cousins. He had a special relationship with Bonnie's most recent daycare children, Danica, Dustin and Tanner, who loved to come up to visit over the last year.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Butch's name to Erhart Fire & Rescue, 6609 Norwalk Rd, Medina OH 44256.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date and he has been laid to rest next to Barb at York Township Cemetery in Mallet Creek.
