Gathel Virginia Heysek-Farnsworth, age 77, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, in Medina, Ohio. She was born on April 2, 1946, to the late William Wellington and Osie Agnes (Brown) Moats in Guardian, West Virginia.

Gathel enjoyed a variety of interests including gardening, canning, traveling and going out to dinner. She was a gifted card player who usually won her fair share of hands and loved it! But most anyone who ever met her knew that her family was the center of her life. She loved to decorate the house for the holidays (especially Christmas) for entertaining, hosting events, and parties.  She enjoyed being surrounded by those she loved. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, Harold R. Farnsworth; children, Lynnette Bowser, and Penny Miceli; stepchildren, Gerald Farnsworth, Lisa Maley, and Jane Farnsworth; numerous cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren along with a lifetime of collected friends.

Gathel is preceded in death by her parents, and her first husband, Richard Heysek (2008).

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256 followed immediately by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
