Obituary

George Henry Kuhls, Jr., age 81, passed away on March 25, 2025, in Medina, Ohio. He was born on August 12, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late George H. and Lavergne (Frieke) Kuhls.

George proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. After achieving his Master of Science in chemistry, George worked as an analytical chemist for Monsanto and Flexsys. He was a member of the American Chemical Society.  George enjoyed playing and coaching soccer, and he also loved to ski. He was an avid reader and computer gamer. George was happiest in the company of his family and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren. He was a dedicated kitten 'foster dad' and loved to hike, camp, and fish with his wife, Mary Ann. A devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and dear friend, George will be greatly missed by all.

George is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Mary Ann (Skeen) Kuhls; his daughters, Kristie (Steven) Mariner and Kimberly Kuhls (Matt Snyder); his precious granddaughters, Clara and Lela; his brothers, Michael (Jane) Kuhls, and Martin (Liz) Kuhls; along with a lifetime of dear friends and colleagues.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court Street, Medina, OH 44256. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 11:00 a.m. George will then be laid to rest with Military Honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.
