Gerald Claude Arnold, age 89, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024, in Medina, Ohio. He was born on June 27, 1935, in Bay Village, Ohio to the late Gerald Prentice and Charlotte (Wright) Arnold.

Jerry served his country proudly during his years in the Air Force. After the service he went on to work at BF Goodrich where he took an early retirement and started a career in Real Estate with his wife Charlene. He then worked as a long-distance driver for a local auto dealership. His passions included fishing, in Canada & Lake Erie. Jerry held both helicopter and pilot's licenses and avidly enjoyed flying. Everyone who knew him was aware that Jerry was happiest in the company of his beloved family. Above all, he always took time to enjoy being 'Gramps'. Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Denise Burmeister; 3 grandchildren, Erica (John) Wood, Chase (Ali) Burmeister, and April (Nick) Pillar; 7 great grandchildren, Evelyn Balliet, Briauna Archer, Elizabeth Pillar, Vivian Burmeister, Delaney Pillar, Owen Burmeister, and Dominic Pillar; his brother, John Arnold; along with a lifetime of friends and colleagues.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Charlene (Murray) Arnold; his son, William P. Arnold; parents, Gerald Prentice Arnold and Charlotte Newberger & stepfather, Laverne Newberger.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Waite Funeral Home, Medina Chapel, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256 followed by interment at Spring Grove Cemetery in Medina, OH.
