Gerald V. Gardner, age 71 of Medina, formerly of Mentor, passed away Saturday, January 05, 2019. He was born October 28, 1947 in Cleveland.  Gerald honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, Army National Guard, the U.S. Army Reserves and Ohio Military Reserve where he served for 36 years.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Katherine (Perino); children Gerald Gardner, Kristina (Mark) Svancara, Nicole Gardner and Mike George, who Gerald was a father figure to; grandchildren Marc "Frankie" Svancara and Kaitlyn Vaughn.

He is preceded in death by his mother Henrietta (Lipscomb) Ippolito.

Funeral Services will be held Monday January 14, 2019 at 12 noon at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St. in Medina, where the family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 -7 p.m. Burial with military honors will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
